Product Spotlight – Problem Solving Foundation Vent Covers

Everything you need for seasonal weather changes come with the foundation vent cover product.  They also will complement the architecture of your home.  They consist of two separate parts: the frame, which is attached to the foundation, and the grille, which is removable. Both are cast from an exterior grade urethane resin that won’t rot, rust, corrode or grow mold. Use either the blocking plate or screen mesh to accommodate the change in seasons. Easily adjust it whether you want to seal off crawl spaces in the winter or use the screen mesh to ventilate them in the summer. Remove the grille by unscrewing four knurled knobs, so that either the sealing/blocking plate or fiberglass screen mesh can be inserted behind it.

The foundation vent covers fit in the standard 16” X 8” concrete block crawl space vent opening you’ll see on the foundation of many homes.

We are the only company which offers excellent performance and a handsome alternative for Encapsulated Foundations.   Over the last 10 years  builders and architects are recommending a new approach for crawl spaces, encapsulating the foundation with heavy plastic sheeting to prevent the moisture from ever getting into the crawlspace to begin with. Encapsulation also includes a drainage system that takes water away from the foundation as well as a powerful dehumidifier that controls the humidity especially during hot summers and rainy seasons. The old foundation ports or vent holes are also sealed and covered on the inside with heavy plastic sheeting.

When encapsulation is the solution for your crawl space you will be left with holes where the ports were. The encapsulation industry really has no good solutions. The port holes are a big problem.  The unsightly holes may just be covered with plywood or cheap plastic covers.  If the foundation has a brick, you may have to hire a  brick mason to fill in the old port holes.
