Beaux-Arts Classic Products decorative grilles have appeared many times in the movies and TV Mini Series. Our most recent order for our Arts and Crafts 12″ x 30″ is for The Gilded Age written by Julian Fellowes of Downton Abbey fame. There are three mansions being built in New York for the sets. Our Arts and Crafts style is a perfect choice. They were designed and manufactured in New York by Tuttle & Bailey from 1870-1914. The Gilded Age was an era that occurred from the 1870’s to about 1900. The term was coined by Mark Twain and Charles Dudley Warner in their book, The Gilded Age: A Tale of Today. During this period the nation was experiencing great growth and success raised by industrial, financial and commercial elite who amassed great fortunes coinciding with an era of expansion of tobacco, railroads, steel and fossil fuels industries, economic, technical and scientific progress and a complete lack of personal income tax. This made possible the very rich to build and decorate true palaces.
