How To Use Beaux-Arts Decorative Grilles for Radiator Cabinets
Beaux-Arts historic reproduction grilles are perfect to use for radiator covers/cabinets. We scan and digetize historic ornament to create masters which can be manipulated to accommodate all the sizes needed for the broad range of sizes and applications necessary to cover existing radiators. All the grilles are cast in thermal resin and hand finished in over 20 beautiful faux finishes. The front of this radiator cabinet is our 20″ x 30″ Arts and Crafts Style grille in Rubbed Bronze. The side radiator grille is our 6″ x 30″ Arts and Crafts Style Grille in Rubbed Bronze. All of our decorative grilles are available in any of our faux finishes for no additional charge.

We recommend that the radiator be painted black so that you do not see it behind our decorative grilles. 
The radiator cabinet can be designed with a radiator grille across the top of the front and sides as shown in this drawing.
Beaux-Arts’ radiator grilles can be built into handsome radiator cabinets. You will need to build the cabinet or hire a carpenter. Beaux-Arts Classic Products does not build the radiator cabinet. We manufacture the decorative grilles that makes the cabinet something special. The custom cabinet will need to fit over your radiator. Keep at least a 3″ space between the radiator coil and the front inside of the fascia board. Most radiator cabinets have many similarities, such as they are generally short only 24″ to 36″ tall. The short stature, means a 6″ to 12″ tall grille is usually a good fit. Beaux-Arts’ has over 20 to choose from in lengths from 20″ to 36″. Radiator cabinets are usually less than 8″ deep from the wall, some are even flush to the wall. Most radiators are located in front of windows, because windows tend to be drafty. These similarities make the tops of radiator cabinets perfect as low narrow shelves. Marble tops can even be used in wet situations such as for house plants in front of windows.
